Chemical Structure
Introduction
Polydiethylsiloxanes offer the same beneficial properties as the Polydimethylsiloxanes with improved compatibility with commonly used cosmetic waxes and oils.
Polydiethylsiloxanes offer improved metal-metal lubrication and low temperature properties when compared to polydimethylsiloxanes.

Applications
Low surface tension enables Polydiethylsiloxanes to spread easily on skin and hair, acting as a lubricant and de-tackifying agent. Polydiethylsiloxane has a slippery, emollient, yet non-greasy skin feel with more body and cushion than Polydimethylsiloxane of equal viscosities.
Unlike Polydimethylsiloxanes, Polydiethylsiloxanes wet pigments well, when formulating color cosmetics.
They are oxidatively stable to 150°C and thermally stable under inert atmospheres to 225°C. These fluids are often used in low temperature aerospace hydraulics.
