i-Octyltriethoxysilane.
Synonym: Triethoxy(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)silane
Countertype of Wacker IO-TRIETHOXY
Chemical Structure
Introduction
SiSiB® PC5912 is clear colorless liquid with a characteristic odor.
SiSiB® PC5912 is suitable for water-repellent impregnation of construction materials (especially concrete and reinforced concrete). It increases their resistance to alkalis and reduces water absorption, thus improving durability. SiSiB® PC5912 is practically insoluble in water. It hydrolyze slowly in the presence of moisture (ethanol is released) to form reactive silanols, which can react with themselves to produce siloxanes.
