Applications
SiSiB® PC8132 is used to modify the suface of inorganic fillers such as wollastonite andaluminum trihydroxide. It makes the surface of these inorganic fillers more hydrophobic and thus increases their dispersability in mineral-filled polymers. SiSiB® PC8132 is especially suited for polymers that are processed at elevated temperatures. SiSiB® PC8132 reduces the viscosity of the polymer melt.
In many sol-gel applications SiSiB® PC8132 is partially hydrolyzed to form a preproduct that can be further crosslinked using temperature. This pre-hydrolysis is often made in conjunction with alkyl silanes (SiSiB® PC5132) or other organofunctional silanes (e.g. SiSiB® PC3100), silicic acid esters, or even an aqueous silica sol.
SiSiB® PC8132 reacts slower with water than SiSiB® PC8131.
SiSiB® PC8132 can be used as a crosslinker in high-temperature silicone elastomers
SiSiB® PC8132 can be used as a stereo-regulator for Ziegler-Natta-catalysts to increase the isotactic index in polypropylene. (A donor)
